We just had a great Business Catalyst Sandpile where we talked about all kind of neat BC related stuff. One thing that came up during the Q&A session was pricing and how to approach website pricing with a customer. So, I offered to share our super secret documents. They are not really super secret, but it sounds extra special when I say it that way.
We use a few different documents to go over this subject and help our customers come up with their budget. One of these is known in our office as the "Design Continuum" and it's a pretty cool little PDF slick. You can download a PDF version of our document here and if you like it, feel free to use it and adapt it to your business process. We found that if we could actually show the prospective customer what makes websites cost more (or less) it became super helpful in the early stages of the proposal process and got everyone on the same page.
After all, things can't just cost more, right! And "Just Because" was never really a good answer.
